For Sale/Horses in Training

We are very pleased with the colts that we are riding out of our stud, Never So Shiney. They possess extreme athletic ability as well as cow sense. His very first barrel performer, Talkaboutability is already showing his talent in the barrel racing pen, as well as his 5 year old full sister who is being hauled and won on as a heeling horse.

*Not every horse listed on this page is for sale - contact us with any questions about these prospects*

Talkaboutability "Daylight" 2005 gray gelding.

*Bred, raised and trained at the Broken Box Ranch
*Woodrow's first barrel performer

Sire: Never So Shiney
Dam: Jets Little Empress

Daylight is a pretty special individual. From the time he hit the ground as a baby he was shocking us with his athletic ability and we knew we had something special. We broke both his sire and dam here on the ranch years ago and trained them both for barrels and roping. It's pretty neat to have a horse that you can say you ran barrels and his father, mother and grandmother! In 2010, I had high hopes for him for the 5 year old futurities but tragedy struck the week before the first futurity that we were entered in. Daylight had stuck both hind legs through a barbed wire fence on the ranch and acquired the most gruesome wire cut I have ever witnessed on a horse. After much care it was determined that he needed to be turned out to live the rest of his life out in the pasture, as he could never be ridden again from the damage that the wire cut caused. Almost a year later in July 2011, his cuts were healed completely and after a whole year off Pat started riding him lightly in the pasture. He never showed any signs of lameness and so I took him in August and started slowly working him on the barrels again. On August 27, 2011 I entered him in his very first barrel competition and he has progressed this fall and adjusted to different arena set ups like an old pro. On Halloween weekend at the Headless Horseman barrel race he made two 2D runs both days. I couldn't be happier with this horse and am pleased to say after his accident, he has not received a single gram of bute or any kind of painkillers and is 100% sound!

Woodrow's first barrel performer Talkaboutability "Daylight" places 5th in the 1D @ the Dreamin' of Summer barrel race on 12/10/11.

Decked In Cash "Jazzy" 2001 sorrel mare by Missin Freckle x daughter of My Leroy Brown

Jazzy is probably the most versatile horse we have ever had on the ranch. She's my #1 ranch horse. I head steers on her and she's a pro level barrel horse. She's the kind that we strive to have on our ranch, she's able to do everything. And do it good.
